I hope you have heard by now that ITD is allowing the City to re-engineer the striping layout on Main St (Hgwy 33). Please take a moment to read the pamphlet below (click to enlarge) and attend a public meeting this Wednesday night to comment on the plan.

What time is the meeting Wednesday night?
The meeting will be from 6-8pm
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the meeting last night, but I was dismayed to hear this morning that there is so much resistance to re-striping Main St.
The proposed re-striping will accomplish 4 goals which I feel are very important for the improved safety and general live-ability of our downtown - safer parking, slower (reasonable) driving speeds, less congestion due to a designated turning lane, and more conducive to other modes of transportation, such as bicycling. I fully support the re-striping and urge those opposed to consider the many benefits.

Restripping Main Street? Awesome. Thanks to Scott and the council for such a visionary, simple and effective solution to transforming Victor's downtown core from a drag - strip to a community center. I fully support the project in it's entirety. A turn lane, a travel lane in each direction bike lane and a "parking lane and Reverse angle parking. Citizens and business owner. Imagine how many more people will stop to shop when they can safely pull off and easily park versus have to merge lanes and be passed on the left and right. Pedestrians, bikes and kids can all share the road with cars. Thanks again.
