With the successful conclusion of our work on Main Street, Envision Victor is excited to announce its next round of public conversations! We hope you’ll be able to join us at one of the following meetings:
Tuesday, Jan 25, 7pm at the Victor Elementary School
Wednesday, Jan 26, noon at Pierre’s Playhouse
Wednesday, Jan 26, 7pm at the LDS Church
Come discuss how Victor’s growth will impact our five core values – family friendliness, small town feel, connection to nature, cultural history, and sustainability. Using visualization software and interactive keypads to capture your responses, we will ask your help evaluating some different possible futures for Victor. We’ll use these models to come up with a set of principles we believe Victor should apply as it grows.
The work we’ve done on Main Street has demonstrated that the public’s voice really does matter in City decisions, and I hope you will come out again to help the City think about how Victor should direct its future growth. Specifically, we’d like your help thinking about how our planning decisions will affect the things we value most in our community.
The growth principles we produce through these meetings will help inform the City’s Capital Improvements Plan, a document that the City will use to estimate the costs and revenue it can expect over the next 15-20 years. Future costs and revenue will be heavily impacted by the type and location of growth we experience. The principles created through Envision Victor’s meetings will guide the creation of a fiscal analysis tool that will evaluate the cost and revenue impacts of different growth scenarios.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because the tools we will use in these meetings are so sophisticated, I’m afraid we will not be able to provide an online version of these meetings. We realize that it’s not always easy to attend a public meeting, but we really hope that everyone who wants to attend is able to make it to one of the three meetings we are hosting.
We’ll bring the food, if you bring your good ideas!

There may be a ton of snow outside but the need to hold a Weed Summit to give the county a fighting chance against this difficult county-wide problem is necessary. This Summit will be held Thurday, January 13th. Contact Dawn at the number listed below if you have any further questions. Thanks.
The Board of County Commissioners is encouraging any and all city officials, public works directors, environmental and agricultural specialists and any other interested/concerned parties to attend the following open meeting to discuss weed control in Teton County. VICTOR IN RUNNING FOR
“COOLEST SMALL TOWN”
Here’s an opportunity for those of you who want to see Victor put on the map as the “coolest small town” via a competition being sponsored by Budget Travel magazine. A group of 80 small towns were originally nominated and Victor made the cut down to the final 20 potential winners of this cool honor. Categories to choose from have been broken down to small towns in The Northeast, The South, The Midwest and The West.
We are in the running against six other small towns throughout the West and Mayor Fitzgerald, City Council and City Staff are asking that you go to the following website address – http://www.budgettravel.com/bt-srv/coolestsmalltowns/CST2011.html and cast your vote to let the rest of the United States know we’re here and we’re “cool.”
As we didn’t realize we were actually in the running - we are a bit behind currently and would appreciate all our great citizens, all Teton Valley residents and “fans” of our sweet city - clicking on the above link and making your vote count.
How to vote – after clicking on the link – place your cursor over the star designating Victor. Click on the star and an “add to ballot” box will appear in the left lower corner, click on that – then the words “Victor, ID” will appear in red under “The West” category designation. Click on “Cast Your Ballot” and then the voting process will be completed. An added bonus is that you can vote for Victor every 5 hours!!
The opportunity to vote continues through February 11, 2011 with the TOP TEN results from the overall voting being revealed in the September 2011 issue of Budget Travel.
